Impress with Flawless Sear Marks

Diamonds can be everyone’s best friend when you create them on a perfectly seared steak. The diamond mark technique is something that few have mastered, and after watching this video, you’ll be in that group. Diamond marks not only make a cut of meat stand out visually, but they also provide more caramelization, which results in more flavor. When you add diamond marks to your proteins, it’s always a win. Grab your tongs, and give it a try. This video is here to help!

Hi Kevin:

I just bought my first Weber Gourmet Barbecue System including the cast iron insert to grill steaks. Does that insert need to be seasoned first? Do I need to season as often as other cast iron cookware?

Thanks

Jose

Hi Jose,

Congratulations on the Gourmet Barbecue System. The grate will take your steaks to a whole new level. The marks and flavor it provides will be like nothing you have ever tasted. Because the grate is porcelain enameled cast-iron, there is no need to season it. Just place it on your grill, preheat, and enjoy. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Happy Grilling!
