WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU DO FOR WEBER?

I am the Manager of Internet Systems here at Weber. I'm also a Dad with a creative side. I love to cook, sing and beatbox. I have a passion for cooking at home and experimenting on the grill. Through cooking I want to help my kids open their eyes to the culinary wonders that surround them every day and allow them to express their creativity. Whether it's the sandwich in their lunch or a celebratory feast at home, they understand food. By introducing them to the art of grilling I hope they learn how to get the most out of food (even the ones kids typically don't like) with attention to preparation, flavor and cooking technique.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WEBER PRODUCT?

You know it's a good thing when it's hard to pick just one favorite. My favorite grills are in the One-Touch Charcoal series. The classic Weber kettle design retains heat and the One-Touch cleaning system simplifies grilling with live fire. I love the Weber RapidFire Chimney Starter. Keep a couple on hand and you've got a continuous flow of hot coals when you need them. I learned quickly that Weber products help make you a backyard hero!

FAVORITE THING TO GRILL?

Salmon, pork spare ribs, vegetables.

CHARCOAL OR GAS?

Gas is quick and dependable, but nothing beats the flavor and experience of cooking with charcoal.

WHAT'S YOUR BEST GRILLING ADVICE IN ONE SENTENCE?

My kids know this inside and out: Daddy's Three P's: Planning, Preparation and Patience. You have to think clearly before you do anything, you have to take time and carefully prepare your ingredients and above all you must be patient with yourself, the food and the grill. It's a short checklist for a lifetime of fun with your Weber.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED WITH GRILLING?

I have memories of my Dad grilling with charcoal using his homemade chimney starter he made from an old coffee can. I was always creative in the kitchen as a kid, learning to bake and help my Mom with holiday meals, and those skills stuck with me through college. I started cooking gourmet meals as a single guy and began grilling when I met my wife. I started grilling with charcoal about 5 years ago and have not looked back since.

As I forge ahead grilling with my kid chefs, they will learn that rubs are a great way to add life to meats and that those same spices can transform otherwise plain vegetables into something great.
