Oilfield grill

I work in the oil field and we are always out working outside. The grill stays in the back of my truck tied up. It is very durable but unfortunately one of the legs have broken which is my fault due to bumpy lease roads. But other than that this grill has performed time and time again. Sometimes we don't get to go home so a nice warm meal helps out.

Excellent Grill

I purchased my grill just over a year ago for camping and portability. This grill allows me to control the way the food is cooking. I even use the grill to cook breakfast in the morning while camping. The drip tray is easy to take out and dispose of. The grill is easy to clean as well. The grill is solid and well made.
I went with Weber for a couple of different reasons. First the Weber is American made and second, Weber has an excellent warranty. I purchased my grill from Home Depot and when I got it home, there was a big scratch in the cover that was painted over. I contacted Weber and emailed them pictures and in 3 days, I had myself another brand new cover. My brother has a bigger backyard Weber and his grill is about 12 years old now. At about 8 years old he noticed his burner not working very good anymore so he contacted Weber. He gave Weber the serial number and in no time, Weber send him the complete inside of his grill to replace under warranty. Some say that Weber is so expensive but that right there is why I would pay more for a great quality grill.

Best I have seen yet

We wanted to get away from firing up a 5 burner grill for just my wife and I so we started looking for something small but high quality.

We came across the Q and thought this might work so we got one and grilled on it that night. I threw on couple burgers and my wife went nuts, she couldn't believe how juicy they we and the flavor was like we have never had in a burger.

The week end came and we had some friends over for a couple of Stellas and Rib eyes from Sam's. I used the grilling chart Weber sent
with the grill and I thought wow 550 Degrees I will have the fire dept. joining us. The stakes were done perfect like people have never had before, every steak was done just like each person wanted it. Following the grilling guide and having the discipline to do it is the way to go, they got it wired.

The grill got more attention than my smoking hot wife did. She said we are getting one go these for the Airstream so the next day we had 2 of these little baby Q's

One of the nicest small grills ever!

I have owned this grill since 2012. I bought it solely for our camper. We go camping quite a bit and this grill is PERFECT! It is a smaller grill, but dont let that fool you. It has always performed perfectly every single time I have used it. It still looks brand new and works as good as the day I bought it. Nice solid construction, not the cheap sheet metal grills that rot away after a couple of seasons of use. This thing is bullet proof and I love that the drip pan is easily removed and disposable. Nice quick clean up. The grill grate is iron and should last a long, long time!!! The only thing I have replaced on this grill is the battery to the electronic ignitor.
Cannot go wrong with this little grill. Would be great for picnics, tailgating, and camping.

I feel sorry for sadness ! Maybe this is a child using her parent's grill or a millenium who does n

I have been a Weber customer/user before the " Baby Q " was born. I have had three Q-300's and bought one for each of our children. I have grilled in snow storms, thunder storms, and other beautiful days ! The wind or weather can never blow out the flames or hurt the meals that I am cooking = steaks, burgers, fish, lobster tails, roasts, chickens, ribs, clams, oysters, and all kinds of vegetables.

A homerun.

This is my TWELFTH Weber grill. Currently I have a 23 year old Genesis, a 5 year old Performer, and now a Q1200. I love them all. However, this little baby is a wonderful product! In addition to the usual high quality construction and parts which are Weber's signature, I believe it produces better BBQed food than my larger Genesis, as close to the flavor of charcoal as you can get with a gas grill. My theory is that the small area under the hood concentrates any smoke that is generated so the food has more of a smoky flavor than with my Genesis. Due to the ease of use and low propane consumption, we find ourselves grilling much more often. It is so easy to start up, heats so quickly, and I no longer feel guilty about cooking say one zucchini, two hamburgers, or other small quantities because you don't waste as much fuel as with the Genesis, and don't have to deal with charcoal for a small quantity of food with the Performer. In addition, Weber always has provided as good customer service as any company I ever have used. Their responses are practically immediate and they are very helpful.

Sadness

The grill does cook well and heats up within 2 minutes.
Sadly the metal lid that encloses the grill is too heavy and any gust of wind will blow it over if open.
More engineering needs to go into having a heavier base rather than a heavy lid .
Overall its decent.

Great, long-lasting grill

I'm not sure how long you need to keep a grill to consider it a long-lasting grill, but my Q200 (the predecessor to the Q1200) is over nine years old. I've grilled many and steak/chicken/fish/corn/etc. on that grill and loved it every time, and have recommended it to many friends over the years. Unfortunately, the other day, the gas regulator/valve assembly had some kind of failure, and gas leaked out of it and light on fire. It was in the warm-up phase so I wasn't there to attend to it and the fire melted the control knob and the control knob bracket, and destroyed the regulator as well. Ah well! C'est la vie.

I now have a Q1200 on order and hope to get at least another 9 years out of it, and I'm happy to do it. It always cooked food evenly, was easy to clean up, and obviously quite compact... so, I have nothing to say but good things about this grill... highly recommended.
