The best Weber I've yet owned

I've owned a few different Weber grills over time, both gas and charcoal, and this one has to be the most enjoyable. I stopped grilling on charcoal in about 2004, and was using a gas Weber, and eventually a pricey DCS grill with all sorts of crazy features. A few months ago, I realized using gas had sucked the fun out of grilling and I wasn't enjoying it as much as I used to. I dipped my toes back in the pond by buying a smokey joe, and once I realized how much fun it was, I decided it was time to get back in the full size charcoal game.

That background aside, this machine is absolutely terrific. Everything you need (side table, charcoal storage bin, the bigger, more stable cart), and nothing you don't (gas ignition, wacky digital stuff, etc). I use it several times a week, and fuel it with a variety of things, from briquettes, to lump charcoal of different woods, to combinations of those things with wood, etc. There is so much flavor control and variety available, and that one-touch system is a godsend - no more ashes blowing around and messy cleanup from the pan under the bottom vent.

My only beef with this grill is the grate - I have no real use for the gourmet system, or the hinges, and these removable and moving pieces are really more of a pain to me than anything else - but this is easily fixed, either with a $22 regular grate from Weber, or a Craycort cast iron unit. But this is a very minor, and fixable issue with what is otherwise, to me, the perfect all around charcoal grill.

The other reason this thing is a winner is Weber's excellent customer service. Today when I was grilling, a piece of hot charcoal somehow fell out onto one of the plastic leg stretchers and melted through it. When I called Weber to order the part, they were very nice, and are sending me a replacement for free! Nobody else does this, and I must say, the customer service and ordering of parts on my DCS has been atrocious - which of course is both odd, and tells you everything you need to know - Weber treats you like a friend and neighbor when you buy their $350 grill and need help, and DCS treats you like another number and a bother when you buy their $7,000 grill when you need help.

Based on the quality of the product and this customer service experience, it's all Weber all the time for me from here on out.

work table sold me

I have had a Weber silver kettle grill for about 10 or more years. In the last five years we have started grilling alot more types of foods so when my bride came outside and saw me using a folding chair as the table for the hundreth time, she said its time to upgrade. I did not argue. The only brand for me and my wallet was a Weber performer. American made on an American budget goes hand in hand. Still cooks like my silver (which still sits right next to the performer and gets used often for sides or if we want a different temp to cook at), but having a work table is SO nice to have. The best accessory I bought for this grill as for my silver was a cover. Keep your investment protected people and it will stay in your backyard for years. My kids will remember dad grilling breakfast, lunch and dinners with them or while they played and that my friends, is the Weber experience. Happy grilling!

A true Perfomer

I assemble grills for a living for one of the big box stores, so I know the quality of the different grills and the materials used to manufacture them. Weber by far is the most well made of all the brands these stores carry. So when the opportunity arose to get a new Performer for just $75.00 because the box was damaged I grabbed it. Not a mark on the grill when unpacked and 20 mins later that baby was fired up. I had my dream charcoal grill. Later that week I sold my 6 year old Weber Gold series Kettle grill for $40.00. I am an avid almost professional griller, I have dedicated wood burning smokers and gas grills, and an oil less turkey fryer. However in combination they do not get used as much as my Performer it is my go to grill, burgersgs, lobsters, clams, corn, lamb, brisket you name it I have cooked it on the grill. Beer can chicken is especialy great. Buy this grill and you won't go wrong.

Weber user for as long as I can remember

It's like you know what to purchase for your first grill. Growing up I always remember my father cooking on his Weber charcoal grill. If you had a Weber grill, it was like owning a Cadillac.

When I was going to purchase my first grill, I remember my father saying, "buy a Weber, and go with Charcoal." I did!

Over the years I've owned nothing but Weber grills. From Gas to Charcoal, I always go with my charcoal grill. I still have a Weber gas grill, but only bring it out to use when I need the capacity for more grilling space.

This past weekend I purchased the Charcoal Rotisserie for my Performer Grill. I LOVE IT! I can't believe I haven't had this rotisserie long ago.

I will always be a "WEBER" man!

Thank you!

Weber user for 25 years

I have used Webbers for over 25 years. I purchased this grill for the table. Not because my older one wasn't working like new. The charcoal holders do eventually have to be replaced. I would also recommend a chimney type of charcoal starter like the one Webber sells.

Best grill ever!!!

For years I have grilled and smoked on gas grills. When it was time to get a new grill I decided to get a Weber charcoal grill. My wife wasn't sure but I wanted to begin learning more about grilling. We both have since loved the change. The food I grill taste better than any gas grill could ever produce. I have started learning how to smoke and grill and have loved every second of cooking and beg to cookout more often. The Weber grill has been so easy to learn and use. My smoked ribs can't be beat. The steaks and bugers have such a great flavor. Everyone who has seen my new Weber are jealous.

Not only has the grill been great but so is the website. I have found so much information to help me grow as a griller. The apps available are also a great way to find new recipes and ideas. Weber has really put it all together.

Great grill and features

I've had my old Weber 22.5" grill with table for 12 years and finally decided to get a new one as I'd worn my other one almost out. This grill is as great as my old one, but I love having a thermometer in the lid and a potable timer will now probably keeping me from over cooking food as I've done in the past when I get side tracked.
