Weber Story

The ’80s

An era of growth, innovation, and change.

George was continuously looking for ways to improve his products and the lives of the people who used them. This time his sights were set on creating the best gas grill ever. By adding perfectly angled metal bars to more evenly distribute heat, channel drippings, reduce flare-ups, and make for easier clean up, the Weber® Genesis® changed the design of gas grills forever.

The ’80s also saw a big change for Weber manufacturing when it moved from Arlington Heights to Palatine, Illinois.
